At 57 I have some menopause issues and would rather try the natural route of Estroven instead of HRT. I had graves disease and have been taking thyroid meds for 15 years now. Just don’t want to take anything that may interfere with the absorption of my thyroid medication. It took a while to get the right level of thyroid medication balanced.
I personally don’t think that is true. Think of all the people in Asian countries who eat soy multiple times a day. The people who live the longest have always been from China or Japan. It is clearly because of their diet.
If you are really worried about your diet effecting your thyroid I woudl suggest that you look into the Raw Food diet. It is incredibly healthy. One website is WeLikeItRaw.com (very informative).
Good Luck.
I have been taking thyroid medicine for 10 yrs now and I heard that soy can interfere with the meds as well.I try to avoid soy as much as possible, but if I do happen to have it .I waite for at least 4 to 5 hrs after I have taken my thyroid medicine. That way I am confidant that my medication had plenty of time to absorb into my system.
