I stopped meninstrating about four years ago. I didn’t really have a problem with hot flashes at that time. But it seems like here lately I am experiencing a lot of “fluxuation.” What I mean is I am extremely hot one minute and cold the next. It’s like my thermostat is off. Any suggestions what might be going on. I don’t see my gynocologist until August I thought I’d put this question out.

I went to the doctor today to see if I was pregnant since I was 5 days late and had just gotten back on my pills about a month ago. I didn’t have my Feb. period and was worried. So she confirmed I wasn’t pregnant, but I wasn’t having my period. She said it could be due to stress or the pills. I’ve had menstrual cramps for 2 weeks. A friend of mine suggested trying Black Cohosh to get my period started. We don’t have a place here that sells it. So I was at Walmart today and they had it in the vitamin isle as black cohosh root whole herb for menopause support in gel capsule form. Is this something that will really help my period to start?

I was diagnosed with POF 2 years ago. Have tried BCP, estrogen/provera and Estratest/prometrium. I want to take a natural supplement instead–have to take something because the hot flashes/lack of libdo/headaches are HORRIBLE (I’m 36). Would a progesterone cream (I’ve seen them at the health food store) help? Or do I have to have estrogen? I’m going back to the doctor in April, but I’d like some suggestions to try in the meantime. Thanks!

Hi, I am 44 recently had a D&C for polp removal and irregular periods. I have gained around 30lbs in the past year, along with hot flashes, and mind farts. I am wondering what the most natural thing is to help with the weight gain and inablility to remember things or multi task (brain farts). My OB tells me that this is life at 44 I think it is time for a new OB but was wondering if I should check with an Endocronologist. I am active and am not happy with being tired, and all the rest of the fun stuff going on with my body. I know I am not alone and would like to here from others who have found help. I am not fond of meds though at this point- not so opposed.
Thanks

Anyone out there have any suggestions to deal with these raging hot flashes ? I thought once I got rid of that period I would be home free, but noooooooooo those hot flashes just intensified. I have heard that HRT is bad for you, but I have tried the natural stuff; which I would prefer, but have had no luck. I also dont sleep very well due to the hot flashes. Is HRT effective in lower doses? Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank You.
